Our Story

In 2009, after 49 years as a mechanic and operator, John Swisher, CEO and president of Freedom Tools LLC, set out to change the rigging industry for the better! He saw the dangers and inefficiencies with the current practice of using just a strap. So, he started to design a better more efficient method.

Consulting with OSHA compliance officers across the country, a prototype of the E-Z Joist Release™️ was created.  After 5 years of testing, refining, and patenting, the E-Z Joist Release™️ proved to not only enable joists to be set up to 50% faster, but it eliminated the need to manually disconnect the joist from the tool; at any height.

In 2022, after Johns' passing, Freedom Tools officially became Swisher Tools; in honor of John & Cheri Swisher. We thank them for their years of hard work and dedication to the industry.
